AES/EBU Input/Output
AES/EBU input/output counts the AES3 digital audio connections provided by an equalizer or DSP unit.
These connections carry digital audio, commonly through XLR or a multichannel DB25 connector. An analogue balanced XLR socket can look similar but serves a different signal type.
AES/EBU Input/Output — Equalizer
A digital input and output can place the equalizer between a compatible digital source and downstream converter. The input accepts the signal for processing; the output sends it onward. The total connection count alone does not describe this routing.
Compare the input/output breakdown and the channels carried by each connector, particularly for DB25 connections. Confirm compatible sample rates and connector wiring separately. Do not count analogue XLR sockets or network-audio interfaces as AES3 connections, and do not assume that one physical connector always corresponds to one audio channel.
