Swappable Amp Module
A swappable amp module lets the user exchange a digital audio player's amplifier section for another compatible module.
The module contains the circuitry that drives the audio output; some designs combine it with a digital-to-analog converter. This is a hardware option, distinct from changing a software sound setting.

Interchangeable modules let a player accommodate different output arrangements without replacing the whole player. Depending on the module, connectors and output capability can change. Compare the specifications for the actual module you will use, including its headphone connections and power ratings, rather than treating every configuration as identical.
Confirm that the replacement is explicitly compatible with the player and follow its exchange instructions. A module is not a universal accessory. Replaceable small amplifier chips, a removable battery or an external docking amplifier do not establish this feature. Swappability alone promises neither higher power nor better sound.
