Application
Amplifier application describes the use an amplifier is built for, rather than its product category or sound quality.
Home audio covers domestic hi-fi and home theatre. Pro / PA covers professional, installation and venue sound; PA means public address.
The Car / Marine label covers amplifiers built for vehicle or boat systems with a 12-volt supply. DIY board / module means a bare board, do-it-yourself kit or manufacturer’s module without a finished enclosure. An enclosed home amplifier does not become a DIY product because it contains a module.
Application — Power Amp
For a power amplifier, consider the manufacturer’s intended-use description, power supply and connections together. XLR inputs or rack ears alone do not make a home amplifier professional equipment.
Application tells you neither output watts nor permitted speaker load. Check the separate output and speaker specifications and the manufacturer’s manual for those requirements.
