Balanced / Dual-Balanced Geometry
Balanced geometry describes a specified symmetrical arrangement of conductors within a cable.
It describes construction rather than automatically establishing a balanced electrical interface. The connectors and the way the circuit uses the conductors also matter.
Balanced / Dual-Balanced Geometry — RCA Cable
An RCA cable can use paired or symmetrical internal conductors while still connecting unbalanced source and input circuits. The internal geometry does not turn ordinary RCA connections into balanced XLR-style signal paths.
Compare the actual conductor and shield arrangement if the construction is relevant to the installation. Keep geometry separate from electrical measurements such as capacitance and from claims about interference rejection. A balanced-looking internal layout alone does not guarantee the common-mode rejection of a complete balanced connection or make an RCA cable interchangeable with one.
