Bass Control
Bass control lets you raise or lower the level of low-frequency sound: the bass.
A “Yes” means you can adjust it yourself. Boost raises the bass level; cut lowers it. Adjustable low-frequency bands in an equalizer also count, even without a knob labelled Bass.
Bass Control — Preamp
In a line preamp, bass control changes the tonal balance sent to the power amplifier. If bass sounds too strong, try cutting it; if too weak, try boosting it. A neutral setting applies no bass boost or cut. If adjustments have no effect, check whether Direct or tone-bypass mode has disabled them.
Two preamps marked “Yes” need not make identical changes. Compare the boost/cut range in decibels (dB), which express the level change, and the frequencies affected. Check the manual for the control’s behavior in your listening mode.
