Bass Technology
Bass Technology describes how a speaker’s bass driver turns an electrical signal into low-frequency sound.
Dynamic means a voice coil moves a cone. Paper, metal or composite cone materials can all use this principle.
Bass Technology — Loudspeaker
Read the bass driver’s description, not just the speaker’s headline technology. A hybrid speaker with an electrostatic panel and a dynamic woofer has Dynamic bass technology. In a two-way speaker, use the mid/bass driver; in a full-range single-driver speaker, use that driver.
Ports, passive radiators and horns describe enclosure or bass loading, separately from the electrically driven bass unit’s technology.
The label cannot tell you how deep, loud or clean the bass will be. Compare low-frequency response with its stated tolerance, maximum output and distortion measurements, checking their stated frequency, level and distance conditions.
