Battery Energy Capacity

The energy stored by a built-in battery, expressed in watt-hours (Wh) or kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Battery energy capacity describes stored energy, rather than how much power a device can deliver at once. One kilowatt-hour equals 1,000 watt-hours. Capacity in ampere-hours or milliampere-hours measures charge and cannot be compared as energy without the battery voltage.

Battery Energy Capacity — Power Regenerator

In a battery-equipped power regenerator, stored energy helps determine how long it can supply connected equipment away from mains power. A larger capacity can extend operation at the same load, but actual runtime also depends on conversion losses, the regenerator’s own consumption and usable battery capacity.

Compare capacities in the same energy units and check runtime at a similar connected load. The continuous output-power rating is a separate limit: a large battery does not guarantee enough power for every system. Mains-only regenerators need no battery, so an absent capacity is not automatically zero.
