Bluetooth Input

Bluetooth reception lets a device receive audio wirelessly from a compatible transmitting source.

This feature describes incoming audio. Bluetooth transmission to wireless headphones, control-only Bluetooth and optional external receiver modules are separate functions.

Bluetooth Input — Tuner

A tuner with a built-in Bluetooth receiver can play audio sent from a compatible phone or other source as an alternative to its radio reception.

Compare the incoming-audio function with the intended source. Bluetooth reception does not add new broadcast bands or imply that the tuner sends radio audio to Bluetooth headphones. Codec and version support are separate details.

Bluetooth Input — Headphone Amp

A headphone amplifier with Bluetooth reception can accept a wireless source signal for its internal audio path and headphone output.

Compare supported receiving codecs and the intended source connection. Bluetooth reception does not mean the headphones themselves must be wireless, or that the amplifier can transmit to a second wireless headphone.

Bluetooth Input — DAC

A DAC with a built-in Bluetooth receiver can accept audio from a compatible wireless source and convert it to analogue.

Compare receiving-codec support and any source requirements separately. A Bluetooth control app or an optional receiver accessory does not establish built-in audio reception. Output transmission is a different capability.

Bluetooth Input — Streamer

A streamer can use Bluetooth reception as an input from a phone or another transmitting device, separate from its network-streaming functions.

Compare the supported incoming-audio codecs with the source. Bluetooth reception does not require the same playback path as a native streaming-service integration, and it does not establish Bluetooth output to headphones or speakers.
