Bluetooth Transmit Codecs

Bluetooth transmit codecs are the audio coding formats a player can send to wireless headphones or speakers.

The sending and receiving devices must support a compatible codec. A codec available for Bluetooth reception is not necessarily available when the same player transmits audio.

Bluetooth Transmit Codecs — Digital Audio Player

This list helps match a portable player to the headphones you intend to use. The active connection uses a mutually supported option; merely listing several codecs does not mean they operate together or that the preferred one is always selected.

Compare the exact codec names and variants supported in transmission on the player and reception on the headphones. Check the active setting when the player provides it. A Bluetooth version number or profile name does not identify the audio codec, and wired headphone playback does not use these transmission codecs.
