BNC S/PDIF Input
The number of documented S/PDIF digital-audio input sockets using 75-ohm BNC connectors. A dual-BNC pair counts as two sockets, although both may carry one source together.
RCA S/PDIF inputs are counted separately. BNC word-clock, 10 MHz reference and AES3id-only inputs do not count: the connector shape does not identify the signal. A listing that says only “coaxial” does not establish a BNC connection.
BNC S/PDIF Input — DAC
Connect a compatible source output to the DAC input using 75-ohm digital coaxial cable with the appropriate plugs. Confirm that both ends support the intended S/PDIF signal.
Check this input’s supported audio formats and sample rates, including whether a compatible dual-data mode needs both sockets. The DAC’s USB limit or headline maximum does not establish this input’s limits. More inputs describe available connections, not better sound.
