Built-In High-Pass Filter
Built-in High-Pass Filter indicates whether a super tweeter includes its own network to reduce lower-frequency signals reaching the driver.
The filter lets higher frequencies pass more readily while attenuating frequencies below its transition region. Its presence is separate from the cutoff frequency, slope and whether either setting can be adjusted.
Built-In High-Pass Filter — Super Tweeter
Use the super tweeter in the connection arrangement specified for that filter. A built-in network does not make every amplifier or main-speaker combination suitable. The filter and driver must operate together within their intended limits.
Check the stated crossover point and slope where available. A high-pass filter does not necessarily filter the signal reaching the main speakers, even when their cable passes through the super tweeter’s terminals. Do not infer a complete two-way crossover from the presence of one built-in high-pass network.
