LC Duplex Connector

LC duplex connector count identifies the paired LC optical connections provided by an assembly.

A duplex connection uses two fibre positions, typically for transmission and reception. It describes an optical fitting rather than the number of network data channels.

LC Duplex Connector — SFP Ethernet Cable

In an optical Ethernet link, the LC fitting must match the transceiver’s fibre connection. The fibres must connect the transmitting side to the corresponding receiving side at the other end.

Compare whether the count refers to paired connectors or individual fibre positions, and keep the fibre type and optical module requirements separate. An LC connector shape alone does not establish single-mode or multimode compatibility. A single-fibre bidirectional link uses a different arrangement and should not be treated as an LC duplex pair.
