IEC Connector Type
The IEC connector identifies the equipment-end fitting on a mains power cable.
Its shape and rating must suit the component’s power inlet. The equipment-end connector is separate from the plug that fits the wall socket.
IEC Connector Type — Power Cable
This specification helps determine whether a power cable can connect to the intended component. Connector designations such as C13, C15 and C19 identify different fittings; a similar appearance is not enough to establish a suitable match.
Compare the stated connector with the component’s inlet requirements and check the cable’s electrical rating as well. A matching wall plug does not establish equipment-end compatibility. Do not force a connector into an inlet or modify it to fit; choose a cable specified for the component and local supply.
