Spade Termination
Spade Termination counts the fork-shaped spade lugs fitted to a loudspeaker cable.
A spade lug is clamped under a compatible binding post. Its fork opening and thickness must suit the terminal, so the connector name alone does not establish fit. The count is separate from conductor size, cable length and the number of supplied cables.

Check the required opening size and the space around adjacent terminals before connecting the cable. A poorly positioned lug can touch another terminal or exposed metal. Switch equipment off as instructed and secure each connection without exceeding the terminal’s permitted tightening method.
Confirm which ends carry spades and whether the cable uses a conventional or bi-wire arrangement. A count may describe one cable, a stereo pair or all connectors across both ends. Keep that basis when comparing products. The number of lugs does not show electrical resistance, mechanical durability or an audible advantage over another compatible termination; those are separate characteristics.
