Cassette Loading
Cassette loading describes how a cassette is inserted into the deck and held in its playing position.
The main arrangements are a front door, a motorized front drawer, a top lid or a portable clamshell lid. A powered or damped front door remains a door rather than a sliding drawer.
Cassette Loading — Cassette Deck
Choose an arrangement that leaves room to insert and remove tapes in the intended location. A top loader needs access above the deck; a front door or drawer needs clearance in front. A portable clamshell opens around the cassette compartment, so access depends on the lid's direction and travel.
Compare the loading mechanism with available shelf space and normal handling. Motor assistance describes how the compartment opens or closes, not tape-speed accuracy or recording quality. Loading style also does not establish auto-reverse or the number of cassette wells; those are separate operating features.
