Conditioning Method
The main method a mains accessory uses to distribute, filter, isolate or regulate the power supplied to equipment.
Conditioning method separates devices that perform different electrical jobs. Passive filters target interference; isolation transformers separate circuits magnetically; voltage regulators control supply voltage. A distributor simply provides outlets, while a ground conditioner connects to the equipment’s grounding arrangement.
Conditioning Method — Power Filter
For a power accessory, choose the method according to the stated function. A balanced isolation transformer has a symmetrical secondary supply; an unbalanced one uses a conventional arrangement. A parallel plug-in filter occupies a spare outlet instead of feeding equipment through its own outlets.
Compare the complete unit’s ratings and supported installation. Filtering does not automatically provide voltage regulation, surge protection or DC blocking. Those functions need separate confirmation. Regeneration produces a new AC waveform and is a different method; a loose wall socket, fuse or connector does not itself establish conditioning.
