Application
Crossover application describes the job a frequency-dividing unit is intended to perform in a loudspeaker system.
A multi-way crossover separates bands for different drivers. Bass management divides the subwoofer range from the main speakers. Professional sound-system processors and passive crossover parts describe different equipment roles, even when their names also include crossover.
Application — Crossover
Choose the application around the signals and amplifier channels your system needs. A multi-way active setup sends separate bands to separate amplifier channels; a bass-management unit handles the subwoofer/main-speaker split. Check the available outputs and filtering rather than assuming every crossover can serve either task.
Compare active line-level units with passive networks carefully: passive parts work between the power amplifier and the drivers, so they do not occupy the same place in the system. A rack case or XLR sockets alone do not establish professional use. Application describes purpose, not filter quality or a guaranteed speaker match.
