Disc Capacity
Disc capacity is the number of MiniDiscs a machine can hold at the same time.
A single-disc mechanism and a multi-disc changer describe different loading arrangements. The count concerns discs, not the minutes of music on each disc or the amount of data stored in megabytes.
Disc Capacity — MiniDisc
Use the count to judge how many MiniDiscs can stay loaded without manual exchange. A changer can make several discs available, but its operating modes determine how they are selected and played. The number held does not imply that several discs can play or record simultaneously.
Compare MiniDisc capacity separately from the CD capacity of a combined machine. A unit may hold several CDs while accepting only one MiniDisc. Also check supported disc and recording modes before estimating total playing time; the physical disc count cannot tell you the duration of the recordings or whether the machine records at all.
