Display Size
Display size is the diagonal measurement of the main information screen.
It is commonly given in inches or millimetres. Screen size is separate from pixel resolution, display technology and the physical dimensions of the component.
Display Size — SACD Transport
On an SACD transport, the main display provides the player’s playback information. Its size describes the screen rather than which disc formats or playback modes it can show.
Compare the stated main-screen diagonal, using the largest main display when several are present. Check readability and available information separately. Resolution, number of text lines and display technology do not directly provide the screen’s physical size.
Display Size — CD Transport
On a CD transport, the main display presents playback information such as track and time. Where several screens are fitted, this specification refers to the main playback-information display, using the largest when required.
Compare diagonal measurements consistently. A larger screen does not necessarily use larger text or show more useful information. Character counts and pixel resolution are not substitutes for physical diagonal size, and an absent size value does not prove there is no display.
Display Size — Streamer
On a streamer, the main display may show playback information, artwork or navigation according to the design. The diagonal describes physical screen size rather than the extent of those functions.
Compare the main screen’s diagonal and aspect ratio when physical space matters. A larger screen does not automatically provide touch control or replace the phone app. Keep resolution and technology separate, and use the largest main display where several are provided.
Display Size — Digital Audio Player
On a portable player, screen size affects the physical area available for browsing and playback information. It is separate from the overall case dimensions and whether the screen supports touch input.
Compare diagonal and screen shape together, since equal diagonals can have different widths and heights. Pixel resolution describes detail rather than size. A larger display alone does not establish easier controls or better visibility in the intended lighting.
