Other Drivers (Per Side)

Other driver count records sound-producing units per earpiece that use technologies outside the separately listed headphone driver categories.

Examples include piezoelectric, MEMS and true ribbon drivers. The accompanying technology description matters because this category groups different operating principles, rather than describing one uniform type of transducer.

Other Drivers (Per Side) — Headphone

Use this count to understand the additional transducers in a headphone's complete driver arrangement. One piezoelectric driver in each earpiece means one per side. Dynamic, planar magnetic, electrostatic, balanced armature, AMT and bone conduction drivers have their own categories and are not added here.

Compare the named technology and its assigned frequency range, not just the total. Two miscellaneous drivers need not perform the same job as one of another type. Sound bores, crossover bands, microphones and passive radiators do not establish this count. An unspecified number should not be interpreted as a confirmed absence of these drivers.
