Maximum DSD Rate
Maximum DSD rate is the highest DSD bitstream rate the device supports under the stated conditions.
Rate can be expressed in megahertz or names such as DSD64 and DSD128. Native DSD and DoP transfer can have different limits.
Maximum DSD Rate — USB Reclocker
For a USB reclocker, the maximum describes supported DSD transfer rather than the highest PCM sample rate. The source connection, output interface and receiving DAC must support the intended route.
Compare the rate together with the native or DoP mode and interface. An overall maximum may apply to only one path; do not copy it to every output. Passing a rate does not establish PCM-to-DSD conversion or a particular analogue performance.
Maximum DSD Rate — Upscaler
For an upscaler, the maximum identifies the highest supported DSD rate within its specified processing and output arrangement. Input acceptance and generated output can have different limits.
Compare the direction, transfer method and interface attached to the figure. A DSD rate supported on one route need not be available on all outputs. Keep PCM sample-rate limits and any PCM-to-DSD conversion capability separate.
