Dual AES Input

Dual AES uses two AES/EBU digital connections together as one audio input. This entry records support for that paired mode, not the number of sockets.

Two independent AES inputs do not establish Dual AES support. Neither do two outputs carrying copies of the same single AES signal. Balanced analogue XLR connections carry a different signal, despite the familiar connector.

Dual AES Input — DAC

The source must generate compatible Dual AES data. Connect its designated output pair to the DAC’s matching inputs, in the order specified by their manuals, using AES digital cables. Follow the instructions for both the source’s output mode and the DAC’s paired-input mode.

Check the formats and sample rates supported at both ends for that connection. A yes does not promise a maximum rate or better sound. Yes means explicitly documented paired support; no requires explicitly single-wire-only operation. A blank means unspecified.
