Efficiency
Efficiency is the percentage of input power a regenerator delivers as useful output power under specified conditions.
The remaining power is lost within the unit, principally as heat. Efficiency depends on load and operating conditions, so a single percentage needs its test basis. It is not the same as output-voltage regulation or power factor.

Compare figures at similar output levels, voltages and loads. A value near rated output may not describe operation with only a small component connected. Standby and idle consumption are separate information for periods when little or no useful output power is being delivered.
Efficiency affects energy use and heat management but does not specify the output waveform’s distortion or an audible result. Follow ventilation requirements even for a highly efficient design. Use real-power measurements on a consistent basis rather than substituting a VA capacity figure for watts.
