Electrostatic Maximum Output Voltage
Electrostatic maximum output voltage is the largest audio signal voltage an amplifier can deliver to a compatible electrostatic headphone.
This is the changing audio voltage, separate from the constant DC bias that polarizes the headphone diaphragm. Figures may use RMS, peak or peak-to-peak notation.

The figure indicates the available voltage swing for reproducing audio peaks. Greater swing can provide more headroom with the same headphone, under equivalent conditions. Keep the specified output or bias arrangement, test frequency and distortion limit attached to the rating.
Compare voltages on the same RMS or peak basis; their numbers are not interchangeable. A 580 V bias rating does not mean 580 V of audio output. Voltage swing alone also does not establish distortion, frequency response or compatibility with a different electrostatic system.
