Galvanic Isolation Voltage

Galvanic isolation voltage states the voltage an isolation barrier withstands under specified test conditions.

A test rating needs its AC or DC basis and duration. A short-duration withstand voltage is different from the permitted continuous working voltage.

Galvanic Isolation Voltage — USB Reclocker

For a USB reclocker, the rating applies to the stated barrier between isolated circuit sections. It describes electrical insulation under the specified test, not the USB signal voltage.

Compare equivalent test conditions and the same barrier scope. A larger number does not measure noise attenuation, and a component-level rating does not by itself establish the complete product’s safety rating.
