Gapless Playback
Gapless playback moves from one track to the next without inserting an extra pause. Silence already in the recording stays intact.
It preserves continuous music across track boundaries. Crossfade does something different: it overlaps the end of one track with the beginning of the next, fading between them.
Gapless Playback — Streamer
On a streamer, gapless playback keeps a live album’s crowd noise or a continuous mix flowing when the track changes. It matters most when the recording was meant to continue uninterrupted.
Check support for the service or playback route you use, along with the app or media server, audio format and current firmware. A general gapless claim does not guarantee every route works the same way.
If a continuous album has an extra pause, compare the same album through another documented gapless route. This helps distinguish a playback problem from silence in the recording.
