Ground Lift
Whether the product provides a switchable signal-ground connection intended to help resolve ground-loop hum.
A ground-lift control changes a specified signal-ground or chassis connection. A ground terminal alone does not establish that this switching function is available.
Ground Lift — Step-Up Transformer (SUT)
On a Phono Step-Up Transformer, a ground-lift setting can help accommodate the grounding arrangement between the turntable, transformer and phono stage. It may reduce hum caused by an unwanted ground path, but it does not address every possible source of noise.
“Yes” means a ground-lift switch or position is explicitly provided. Check the manufacturer’s description of which connection it changes and how it should be used. A product with no stated information should remain unknown.
Compare this feature with the grounding needs of your installation rather than treating it as a sound-quality rating. Use the built-in control as instructed; do not substitute an adapter or modification that disconnects protective mains earth.
