HD Radio

HD Radio support identifies whether a tuner can receive the digital radio system used by participating AM and FM broadcasters.

It is a broadcast reception feature, separate from internet streaming and from DAB or DAB+. Receiving the digital service requires compatible receiving hardware as well as a usable local broadcast signal.

HD Radio — Tuner

Built-in support means the tuner already contains the required HD Radio receiver. Module-ready means a separate compatible module or adapter is needed. The digital broadcasts can provide additional station content, but the services available depend on local broadcasters and reception at the antenna.

Compare built-in reception with upgrade readiness and check that the necessary module is included or available. An ordinary AM/FM tuner does not gain HD Radio reception just by tuning the same frequency. A high-resolution streaming claim is also unrelated. The feature label does not guarantee digital coverage at a particular listening location.
