HDMI ARC/eARC Input
The number of inputs that receive television audio through HDMI ARC or eARC. Record the supported mode; a socket offering both counts once. An unspecified value does not confirm zero inputs.
ARC means Audio Return Channel; eARC is its enhanced form. Audio travels back from the TV to the DAC, which converts it to an analog audio signal.
HDMI ARC/eARC Input — DAC
Both devices need return-channel-capable ports. Ordinary source-to-TV HDMI audio is a different direction; an HDMI-shaped I2S input uses a different interface and cannot substitute for ARC/eARC.
eARC offers greater audio capacity, but its label does not guarantee every format will play. Check the source’s audio, the TV’s output and the DAC’s supported formats, together with the return link and device settings. For a stereo-only DAC, select a supported PCM/Stereo TV output rather than an unsupported surround stream.
