HDR Support

HDR support means the cable can carry the required signal for specified high-dynamic-range video formats.

HDR describes video information and presentation capability, not an audio-processing feature. The source and display must also support the selected HDR format.

HDR Support — HDMI Cable

For an HDMI cable, HDR compatibility must be considered alongside the complete video mode, including resolution, refresh rate and colour settings. Different combinations can impose different link-bandwidth requirements.

Compare the exact HDR format and operating mode, not simply an HDR label. Cable support does not make a non-HDR display capable of HDR or convert ordinary content into it. A claim at one resolution and refresh rate should not automatically be extended to every higher-bandwidth mode.
