Headphone-Side Cable Connector

Headphone-Side Cable Connector identifies the connection where a removable cable attaches to an earcup or in-ear shell.

Examples include MMCX, two-pin connectors, mini-XLR and separate plugs at each earcup. This is the headphone end of the cable. The plug that connects to a player, amplifier or electrostatic energiser is described separately as the source-side plug.

The connector helps identify replacement cables, but its name is only part of the compatibility check. Pin spacing, contact assignment, recessed sockets, locking features and the shape of the surrounding housing can differ. Confirm compatibility with the exact headphone model before inserting or ordering a cable.

Two sockets that look similar do not necessarily accept the same cable. A detachable connector also does not establish balanced-drive support or microphone wiring. When several connector types are listed, distinguish the connections supplied with this headphone from optional adapters and accessories; the list is not a promise that every cable will work.
