Wireless Mode
Wireless mode identifies the link a headphone uses to receive audio without a cable.
Bluetooth connects to compatible phones, computers and players. Dedicated wireless systems use a matching transmitter or USB dongle; their receivers are not automatically interchangeable with Bluetooth devices.
Wireless Mode — Headphone
The mode determines which source can send sound to the headphones and whether an additional transmitter is needed. A headphone that also accepts a cable can still have a wireless mode; wired playback is a separate option.
Compare the actual connection system and included transmitter before looking at codec or Bluetooth-version details. A shared radio frequency does not establish compatibility between proprietary systems. “Wired only” means audio requires a cable, whereas an unspecified wireless mode leaves the connection method unknown.
