IEM / Low-Gain Mode
IEM / Low-Gain Mode indicates a dedicated operating mode intended to reduce output level and noise for sensitive in-ear monitors.
Sensitive earphones can reach useful listening levels with a small electrical signal, making residual amplifier noise or a narrow usable volume range more noticeable. A dedicated mode can adapt the output for this use, but its implementation and effect vary between amplifiers.

Check which outputs support the mode and follow the instructions when switching it. Begin with a low volume setting, particularly when moving between headphones with different sensitivities. The mode can improve practical level control without proving that every in-ear monitor will be silent or compatible.
A general low/high gain switch is not necessarily a dedicated IEM mode, and an IEM compatibility claim alone does not describe the circuitry. Compare any stated noise and output-impedance figures under the relevant conditions. The feature does not replace checking the earphone’s requirements or establish a universal safe listening level.
