Input Level Trim
Input Level Trim indicates whether you can adjust each input’s level separately to reduce volume differences when switching sources.
A Yes means per-input adjustment is available. One gain setting for the whole preamp does not count. Trim is an offset from the input’s normal level: positive settings raise it, negative settings lower it. The adjustment is expressed in decibels (dB).
Input Level Trim — Preamp
The main volume control sets your listening level; trim lets you bring individual sources into line. Keep the main volume unchanged while comparing a familiar source with another. Use the documented trim control to lower the louder input or raise the quieter one.
Check the manual to compare which inputs support adjustment, its range and its step size. Matching typical source levels will not make every recording equally loud.
