Maximum Load Capacity
Maximum load capacity is the greatest component weight an isolation support is rated to carry.
The rating may apply to one support, a complete set or a platform. Its scope must be retained with the number.
Maximum Load Capacity — Damping Base
For an isolation base, the maximum load normally limits the total supported component weight under the stated placement conditions. Staying within that limit is necessary for the platform’s intended mechanical operation.
Compare the maximum with the complete load, including any accessories resting on the platform. Also check a stated minimum or recommended working range: being below the maximum does not necessarily place a spring or compliant support in its intended operating range. Keep the load distributed as specified.
Maximum Load Capacity — Damping Feet
For isolation feet, a per-foot rating must be considered alongside the weight distribution of the component. A heavy transformer or other uneven internal layout can put more load on some feet than others.
Compare like-for-like ratings: a set capacity is not the capacity of each foot. Multiplying a per-foot maximum by the number of feet assumes an appropriate distribution and should not replace the product’s loading instructions. Check the recommended working range as well as the maximum.
