Maximum Output Level (Unbalanced)
Maximum unbalanced output voltage is the largest signal the specified unbalanced output delivers before its stated distortion or clipping limit.
The output load, distortion criterion and RMS or peak convention belong with the figure. A nominal or rated reference level is a separate measurement.
Maximum Output Level (Unbalanced) — Equalizer
For an equalizer, the rating describes the maximum signal at the unbalanced output feeding the next component. It remains specific to that output path even if other connectors are fitted.
Compare the load and distortion conditions and keep nominal line level separate. The unbalanced figure should not be replaced by a rating for another output type, and an RMS value should not be compared directly with a peak-to-peak number.
Maximum Output Level (Unbalanced) — Preamp
For a preamplifier, this rating applies to its unbalanced line output, normally on RCA. It helps assess available drive and the level presented to the power amplifier.
Compare the same connector, load and voltage convention with the following input’s requirements. Do not substitute a balanced-output rating or a headphone-output figure. A volume range beginning at zero is not itself a measured clipping ceiling.
