Maximum Resolution / Refresh
Maximum resolution and refresh rate describe a supported video mode, such as a pixel resolution at a stated number of updates per second.
Resolution and refresh rate belong together. Colour depth, chroma format and compression conditions can change the data needed for the same nominal resolution.
Maximum Resolution / Refresh — HDMI Cable
For an HDMI cable, the supported mode applies to the stated cable version and length. It helps establish whether the connection can carry the source and display’s intended operating mode.
Compare complete modes rather than pairing the highest resolution from one claim with the highest refresh rate from another. Keep any compression or colour conditions attached. A supported cable cannot make the source or display exceed its own limits, and a resolution label alone does not establish all possible HDR or gaming modes.
