Disc Editing Features
Disc editing features are the MiniDisc functions used to organise, label or alter recorded tracks and their information.
Editing changes the recorded disc's organisation or content; playback modes merely change how it is played. Functions can include track editing, titles, groups, automatic track marks and recorded-level changes. Their availability depends on the recorder and recording format.
Disc Editing Features — MiniDisc
Track editing can divide a recording, join tracks, move them or erase unwanted material. Titles and groups help navigation, while automatic track marking can organise a recording. Scale-factor editing changes an existing track's recorded level and may also provide fades.
Compare the specific operations supported rather than treating 'editing' as every possible function. Keyboard titling needs the documented keyboard connection. Check format restrictions and undo limits before an edit: undo does not necessarily reverse scale-factor changes. Shuffle, repeat and programme play are listening modes, and a date stamp records information rather than changing the audio.
