Memory Card Slots

Memory card slot count is the number of removable storage-card connections provided for a digital audio player's music library.

These slots accept the stated SD or microSD card type. They are separate from built-in storage, working memory and connections for other purposes, such as a SIM card tray.

Memory Card Slots — Digital Audio Player

A slot lets you expand the local music library or exchange cards without replacing the player's internal storage. Two slots can hold two cards at once, subject to the player's supported card and library arrangements. The slot count tells you how many cards fit, not how much each can hold.

Compare the count with card type, per-slot capacity and formatting requirements. Two slots do not guarantee twice another player's usable storage if their capacity limits differ. A stated maximum card size is not the number of slots, and having several cards does not mean every music app can use them in the same way.
