Multiroom Platform
A multiroom platform is a system for grouping compatible music players so they play the same music in sync across different rooms.
The platform name helps you match a new streamer to the system you already use. Sharing Wi-Fi or a streaming service does not, by itself, make two players compatible.

Check that both models support grouping together, use compatible app/software generations, and can share your intended music source. Even within Sonos, players using separate S1 and newer app systems cannot be grouped together.
AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Roon support are listed separately here under Network Playback Protocols. They can offer multiroom playback, but that support alone does not establish membership of another platform.
A Works with Sonos label does not guarantee built-in Sonos playback: some integrations require a separate Sonos Port. Check the manufacturer’s required equipment.
