Output Current
Output Current is the current an external power supply is rated to deliver at its output, normally expressed in amperes.
The rating describes available capacity under the stated conditions. A compatible device draws the current it requires; a higher current rating does not mean the supply automatically forces that amount into it. Voltage, polarity and the supported power arrangement must still match.

Check that the supply can meet the device’s required current, including any specified startup demand. Distinguish continuous capacity from short-duration or peak figures. With multiple outputs, confirm whether the rating applies to each output or is shared across all connected loads.
A supply with insufficient capacity may reduce its output voltage, enter protection or fail to operate the device correctly. Compare ratings at the required voltage and operating conditions, and use a supply approved for the device rather than choosing solely by the largest amperage number.
