PCM-to-DSD Conversion
PCM-to-DSD conversion changes an incoming PCM audio signal into a DSD output signal.
It is a processing capability rather than simply the ability to accept or pass an existing DSD stream. The generated DSD rate and output interface remain separate conditions.
PCM-to-DSD Conversion — Upscaler
In an upscaler, this mode can provide a DSD signal for a DAC that accepts the resulting format through the selected connection. The supported PCM input range and DSD output rates determine which conversions are available.
Compare the generated DSD rate and native or DoP transfer method with the receiver’s input requirements. Conversion does not recover information absent from the original recording, and DSD playback support alone does not confirm PCM-to-DSD processing. Check whether conversion is selectable and which outputs can carry the result.
