Platform Footprint (W × D)
Platform Footprint is the width and depth of the top surface available to support equipment on an isolation platform.
It describes the support area rather than necessarily the platform’s total outside dimensions. Protruding supports, trim or hardware can make the overall size larger, while raised features may reduce the flat usable area.
Platform Footprint (W × D) — Damping Base
Compare the footprint with the positions of the component’s feet, not only its case dimensions. Each required support point must sit where the platform is intended to carry load. Leave the equipment’s ventilation and cable clearances available around the arrangement.
A component fitting on top does not establish that its weight is within the platform’s operating range. Check load capacity and any centre-of-gravity or positioning requirements separately, especially for equipment whose mass is unevenly distributed.
