Operating System
A portable player's operating system manages its interface, playback functions and any supported applications.
Systems range from general-purpose platforms such as Android to a maker's dedicated music firmware. A genuine dual-boot player can start in different systems. A music-priority mode within one system is a setting, not necessarily another operating system.
Operating System — Digital Audio Player
The operating system shapes how you browse music, manage files and access available software. An Android-based player may support applications, while a dedicated music system concentrates on the functions its maker provides. The category does not by itself establish a particular app store, service or software version.
Compare the documented system and supported functions for the player, including any dual-boot arrangement. Check the Android version and app requirements separately where relevant. A familiar-looking screen does not prove which system runs underneath, and an audio-priority mode does not automatically add a second system. Operating-system choice alone does not establish playback quality.
