Rated Power into 1 Ohm

Rated Power into 1 Ohm states an amplifier’s electrical output in watts (W) per channel into a specified 1-ohm test load.

A rating of 2 × 300 W means 300 W per channel. Lower resistance requires more current at the same output voltage; a 2-ohm figure cannot establish an unlisted 1-ohm rating.

Compare the same load, frequency range, number of channels driven together and distortion limit. Music or brief burst ratings do not establish sustained output. If test duration is missing, do not assume continuous power.

Real speaker impedance varies, so one resistor-load result cannot guarantee compatibility with every loudspeaker. Check the maker’s minimum-load instructions for your operating mode. A stereo rating does not establish output in bridged mode, which combines channels to drive one load. Keep a monoblock’s own rating separate from that switched operating mode.
