Supply Compatibility
Supply compatibility describes whether an external power supply serves a range of suitable equipment or specific named components.
A universal supply offers general connection options; a dedicated supply is designed for particular equipment. A spare or replacement adapter reproduces the original supply's role. These descriptions do not establish interchangeability without checking the component's actual electrical requirements.
Supply Compatibility — Power Supply
Compatibility determines whether the supply can power the intended component correctly. A dedicated connection may carry several voltages or control signals, while a universal supply still needs the right output voltage, current capacity, connector and polarity. Physical fit alone cannot establish a suitable match.
Compare the documented supported equipment and complete output requirements. Selectable voltage does not make every setting suitable, and a replacement charger is not automatically an upgrade supply. Keep the manufacturer's compatibility statement separate from claims about sound quality. An accessory lead can change the connector without changing the underlying electrical supply.
