19-Inch Rackmount

19-inch rack mounting means compatibility with the standard equipment-rack mounting format.

The designation refers to the rack mounting arrangement rather than the full outside width of the cabinet. Equipment height and usable depth remain separate measurements.

19-Inch Rackmount — Rack

For an equipment rack, this field indicates support for mounting compatible 19-inch units. Mounting rails and the available rack space determine how the equipment can be arranged.

Compare usable height, depth and load rating as well as format compatibility. A wide shelf is not necessarily a 19-inch mounting system, and mounting rails do not eliminate the need for suitable support for heavy equipment. Leave the clearances required by the installed devices.

19-Inch Rackmount — Power Filter

For a power filter, rack-mount capability allows the unit to be secured in a compatible 19-inch equipment rack, using its intended mounting hardware. This can place its outlets and controls within a rack-based system.

Compare the occupied rack height, depth and cable access with the intended installation. Check whether mounting ears or other hardware are included. Rack-mount compatibility describes installation; it does not specify outlet count, filtering performance or the load the filter can supply.
