RCA Line Output
RCA output count identifies the specified outgoing analogue connections on RCA sockets.
The output’s role matters: most provide line-level audio, while phono head amps and step-up transformers feed another phono stage. Preserve socket versus stereo-pair counting scope.
RCA Line Output — Subwoofer
On a subwoofer, RCA line outputs can pass a signal onward through the specified routing, which may include filtering. They are separate from the internal driver connection.
Compare whether the output is full-range, filtered or a stated pass-through. Preserve mono versus stereo-pair scope and do not assume every RCA socket is an output.
RCA Line Output — Optical Equalizer
On an optical-cartridge equalizer, RCA outputs provide its processed analogue signal to the next component. A stated left/right pair represents one stereo output.
Compare the specified counting basis and output-level conditions. Where individual terminals are explicitly counted without a stereo-pair description, retain that scope rather than guessing a pair count.
RCA Line Output — MC Head Amp
On a phono head amp, RCA outputs feed the following phono stage, normally its suitable MM input. They are not ordinary finished line-level phono outputs.
A stated stereo pair is one output. Compare gain and following-stage requirements separately, and do not connect by socket shape alone while ignoring the required phono equalization path.
RCA Line Output — Equalizer
On an equalizer, RCA line outputs send the processed analogue signal to the next component. The number is separate from the input count.
Compare the stated socket or stereo-pair basis and output level. Check bypass or routing behaviour separately; several connections do not automatically provide independent outputs or controls.
RCA Line Output — Preamp
On a preamplifier, RCA pre-outs feed power amplifiers or other line-level destinations. A stated left/right pair is one stereo output.
Compare whether outputs share volume control and can operate together. Dedicated record-loop or subwoofer outputs have distinct roles and should not be folded into this ordinary line-output count.
RCA Line Output — Tuner
On a tuner, RCA line outputs provide analogue radio audio to a preamplifier or amplifier. Fixed and variable outputs can have different operating roles.
Compare the stated socket or pair count and level-control arrangement. A headphone socket is not an RCA line output, and multiple outputs need not have independent source selection.
RCA Line Output — Step-Up Transformer (SUT)
On a step-up transformer, RCA outputs carry the stepped-up cartridge signal to a compatible phono-stage input. A stated left/right pair counts as one output.
Compare the following phono stage’s requirements and keep balanced XLR outputs separate. The transformer does not by itself provide ordinary line-level phono playback or replace the phono equalization stage.
RCA Line Output — Headphone Amp
On a headphone amplifier, RCA line outputs can feed another component through the specified fixed, variable or pass-through arrangement. They are separate from headphone-driving sockets.
Compare the output mode and whether the volume control affects it. Preserve the stated socket or pair basis; connector presence alone does not establish preamplifier operation.
RCA Line Output — Phono Preamp
On a phono preamplifier, RCA line outputs deliver the amplified and equalized cartridge signal to a line input. A stated stereo pair counts as one output.
Compare output level and any connector-specific conditions. Keep record-loop or other special outputs separate, and do not confuse the line output with the incoming cartridge connection.
RCA Line Output — Tape Deck
On a cassette deck, RCA line outputs send playback or the selected monitor signal to the audio system. They are distinct from recording inputs.
Compare the stated socket or stereo-pair basis and any fixed or variable level. A tape-loop connection in the receiving amplifier does not change the deck’s output direction.
RCA Line Output — DAC
On a DAC, RCA line outputs provide the converted analogue audio. A stated left/right pair represents one stereo output rather than two selectable stereo sources.
Compare fixed and variable-output modes with the following component’s needs. A coaxial digital RCA output is a different interface and must not be counted as an analogue line output.
