Removable Headshell
Whether the tonearm’s headshell can be detached from the arm tube as a separate cartridge-carrying assembly.
The headshell holds the cartridge at the end of the tonearm. A removable headshell differs from an interchangeable arm wand or a cartridge’s own mounting system.
Removable Headshell — Tonearm
On a Tonearm, a detachable headshell can make cartridge changes more convenient because each cartridge can remain mounted in its own shell. Compatibility still depends on the arm’s connector, geometry and permitted headshell-and-cartridge weight.
“Yes” means the shell unplugs from the arm, commonly through a locking collar or bayonet arrangement. A fixed or integrated shell is not removable in this sense. Removing mounting screws from the cartridge alone does not make the headshell detachable.
Compare the attachment standard and suitable replacement shells before planning cartridge swaps. A change may still require balance, tracking force, alignment and other setup adjustments. Detachability describes convenience and construction; it does not by itself establish better tracking or sound quality.
