Separate Power / Data Conductors
Separate power and data paths describe a cable construction that routes supply power and data through distinct paths.
The description concerns physical routing or separation. It does not automatically mean that the devices are electrically isolated from each other.
Separate Power / Data Conductors — USB Cable
USB connections use different conductors for power and data; this feature highlights a specified separation arrangement within the cable. Some designs further separate those paths into different bundles or cable sections.
Compare the actual construction rather than assuming every use of the phrase describes the same arrangement. Check connector and power-delivery requirements separately. Distinct power and data paths do not by themselves establish galvanic isolation, a higher USB data rate or compatibility with every device.
Separate Power / Data Conductors — SFP USB Cable
On an optical USB assembly, data can travel through an optical section while power follows a separate electrical path or is supplied locally. The complete assembly’s power arrangement determines what must be connected at each end.
Compare the stated power routing and any auxiliary supply requirements alongside USB compatibility. An optical data path does not automatically prove that every electrical connection between the ends is absent. Keep physical path separation distinct from a specified galvanic-isolation claim.
